Our Take: CMS made minor updates to the PBJ data specification for uploaded PBJ files. Users can no longer submit more than 22.5 hours per employee ID. XML files are required to use spec version 4.1 after April 1, 2026. ▼

A minor fix also allows optional hire & termination dates to be submitted if desired. Users will no longer receive a warning for hire or termination dates in 2026 and beyond.
