In this update to the Five Star Users’ Guides, CMS disclosed the changes needed to staffing and quality measures affected by the removal of Section G from the MDS. CMS will update the staffing level case-mix adjustment methodology and replace some of the Quality Measures (QMs).
For turnover measures, CMS is revising the staffing rating methodology so providers that fail to submit staffing data or submit erroneous data receive the lowest score possible on staffing turnover measures.
